U.S. Total 53.3 GW Installed PV Capacity Enough to Power 10.1 Million Homes!
The U.S. installed 10.6 gigawatts (GW) of solar PV capacity in 2017 to reach 53.3 GW of total installed capacity, enough to power 10.1 million American homes! And there’s more to come. Total installed U.S. PV capacity is expected to more than double over the next five years, and by 2023, over 15 GW of PV capacity will be installed annually. Utilities Just Beginning to Cope with EV Growth
According to Navigant Research, the total number of charging ports installed in the U.S. as of the end of last year (2017) was about 475,000. That’s not even a fifth of the 5.5 million charging units the Edison Electric Institute and the Institute for Electric Innovations estimates the country could need by 2025. Read full GTM article.
